The Devil Sword Dante can be explained as Dante's power manifested into a physical form. I believe that, without the power of Sparda, Dante would have been stronger than Urizen after eating the fruit but not as strong as Vergil post Urizen fruit and V embracing his humanity. The power was always within him, even if he didn't tap into it. As Dante hadn't even acknowledged his demonic side in DMC3, all Rebellion could do was awaken the devil within and force him to face that side of him and get over himself.Ībsorbing the Sparda likely was just a boost in the total power of the Sin DT, as he could access it in DMC2 without it. Embracing his demonic heritage created a balance that wasn't there before, meaning the power of the Sin DT was awakened.

That's not to say he didn't accept his demonic side, more he just preferred his human side over it. It wouldn't awaken this power before likely because Dante hadn't fully embraced his demonic heritage. Rebellion awakening the Sin DT likely has something to do with Dante's mentality. If Nero's DT was indeed an SDT then how did he facilitate the merge? Dante had Rebelion to do the trick and Vergil did it the hard way by splitting in two and mixing back together again, did he just SCREAM and bam Super Sayian God? I would argue that unlike Dante and Vergil, Nero is a second generation descendent of Sparda, being only a quarter devil so maybe he had the ability to do so biologically, but this idea seems farfetched. Now the final question, was Nero's new devil trigger a normal one or a Sin Devil Trigger with his human and demon halfs merged? If this was just Nero's demon from and not Sin Devil trigger then it would be ridiculous since if just his demon from was enough to overwhelm Vergil's SDT this means Nero can have an even stronger Sin Devil Trigger form. The way Vergil gained his own Sin Devil Trigger was when V and Urizen remerged? It am confused by this because Vergil= Urizen+V and then when V+Urizen= Vergil so how did the remerged Vergil became stronger then before and gained a hybrid human/devil form? So the Sin Devil Trigger and the Devil Sword Dante are two separate creations or did they both came as a package deal? The way Dante unlocked his was by stabbing himself with Rebelion and using its hidden power to merge his human and devil halfs in the process he also absorbed the Devil Sword Sparda into himself to make his new sword.īut Dante was stabbed by Rebelion before, Nero himsef did it so why did it happen now? Is it just because Dante became aware of it? He sure didn't seem aware when he was first imapled by rebelion but the sword unlocked his normal DT anyway. Its been a running theme in DMC that human emotions of love and protection can amplify a demons power way beyond their the natural limit of their powers and that is the reason Dante is stronger then Vergil if only slightly. I ahve several questions relating to this new form in 5.įrom what I understand the Sin Devil Trigger is the result of combining the demon half and the human half of the soul into one.
